“Always Believe, Never Lose Faith and Keep Moving Forward.”
My motto is simple, “Always Believe, Never Lose Faith and Keep Moving Forward.” Unfortunately, this was a motto that I was slow to embrace. When my son Collin was first diagnosed with autism, I was in a state of denial. I thought, he will get better and would grow out of it.
Later, I kept myself at arms length. I thought I will just throw money at the situation and it will go away. I worked constantly trying to make as much money as possible. When I was home, I was tired and disengaged from my family.
Sadly, it wasn’t until the last few years that I got involved with my son and his care. What an eye-opener that was. I saw and understood the challenges that far too many families touched by autism experience. I saw their commitment and I became inspired. That’s when I decided that I would commit myself to helping others and founded the Autism Resource Foundation.
For the families touched by autism, while our lives can be challenging, don’t view the situation as negative. I believe there is a reason for us to be in this situation and we are only given what we can handle. In the face of adversity people are able to accomplish great things they never thought would be possible. Embrace this journey we are on together.
I believe our loved ones with autism can get better. Thousands of children have improved dramatically and there even many stories of recovery.

My son and family lost a lot ground while I was in my sad state of denial. While I cannot turn back time and undo my mistakes of the past, I am devoted to do everything in my power to make a positive difference in the future of my son and the lives of other families touched by autism. I’ll remind you once again,
